Competitive Games Ideal For Fishing Charter Trips
A fishing charter trip offers long days on the open water catching fish and spending quality time with friends. As you go through the day, you can increase the competition and fun on the boat by playing a variety of games related directly to the fishing experience.
Whether you play for prizes or just for fun, the games will add to the memories and help create new traditions for every charter trip you take.
The Fishing Points Game
One of the easiest and more competitive ways to play games on a fishing charter is with the fishing points game. The game assigns points for every catch caught and also includes a number of bonus points. For example, you would assign the most points for the biggest fish you can catch and lower the amount of points for smaller and more common species.
As each person catches a fish, their points are tallied and the fish species is kept track of. At the end of the day, you can add up the total fish points and award bonus points for the biggest fish caught, the person who caught the most fish, and the person who had a widest variety of fish species caught.
Before the trip begins, everyone can agree on different bonus categories to know what to work towards throughout the day.
Fishing Sabotage
A game of fishing sabotage turns some of the fishing into fun challenges for fishermen to compete in. The challenges make the fishing harder. In the game, each challenge is written on a separate index card. A player picks the card and must do the challenge.
Examples of challenges include "Fishing Blind" where a player must fish with their eyes closed or covered. Everything they do is based off touch. A "Bait Switch" means a player will have to use an alternative piece of bait like a rolled up chunk of bread, corn niblets, or other food. A "Constant Reel" means a player has to constantly cast and reel in without the bait settling down.
Players are paired off into one on one battles and you could play the whole game tournament style throughout the day. Each round should be timed to either around a half hour. At the end of the round, the player with the most fish caught moves on. The player with the least is eliminated. Play continues until only player remains and is crowned the champion.
Come up with your own challenges to add an excitement and competitive nature to the game.
When you try out the games on a chartered fishing trip, you can create fun memories and discover all new ways to fish.
