Enjoying Time Away From Home

After struggling for quite some time with my job, I finally had the chance to get out and see the world. My job was offering a position that required almost constant travel, so I began working hard to explore the world. It was really fun to work a little bit and then to see a new place, and I was enthusiastic about the challenges it presented. From learning new cultures to knowing how to speak well enough to get around, every day brought a new adventure. On this website, read more about how to enjoy time away from home while traveling for fun.

Why A Biking Tour Through Colombia Is A Must

Of all the things on your bucket list, taking a very long biking tour may not be one of them. However, there is a Colombia Medellin Biking tour that you may want to add to your list, anyway. Medellin is a town in the midst of the Colombian mountains, and the scenery is so beautiful. People are always concerned about safety and security in South American countries, but that really is not a problem here. Here are a few other reasons why you should reconsider a biking tour in this part of Colombia.

The Biking Tours Take You Around Coffee and Tea Plantations

If you have ever wondered where Colombian coffee varietals and tea come from, you can bike from your hotel room to the coffee and tea plantations in the area. There, you can take a full tour, either on a bike or on foot, of the plantations to see how these plants are grown, and how your favorite breakfast beverages are made from seed pods.

You may even be able to sample some of the freshest coffee and tea on the planet if you visit during harvest time when the seed pods and/or tea leaves are ripe for picking and plucking. It all has quite the different taste than the stuff that is packaged and shipped to your local grocery store.

There May Be a Vineyard Tour, Too, If You Are Willing to Bike Farther

Colombia's climate is ideal for growing anything that requires a hot, humid environment. For that reason, some vineyards in Colombia have sprouted up. It may require you to pedal a bike farther than you have ever pedaled before, but at the end is a vineyard with many wine samples to ease the muscle fatigue. Stay in a cottage near the vineyard and bike back in the morning, or bike back just in time for supper at your hotel.

You Can See Much More of Colombia on a Bike Than in a Stuffy Bus or on Foot

Biking through this country is a lot easier on the eyes. You can see a lot more on a bike than you can in one of Colombia's overcrowded buses. Biking is also a lot safer and healthier than traveling on foot because you will fly by any snake or oversized insect or predator that might leap out of the trees at you. Additionally, you always travel in a group on bicycles, which increases your safety level, to be sure.
